Command AntiVirus(tm) for FreeBSD

Command AntiVirus for FreeBSD Version 4.90.1. Through our 
advanced HoloCheck(tm) scanning technology, Command AntiVirus
for FreeBSD detects tens of thousands of viruses and provides 
state-of-the-art polymorphic virus detection.

NOTE: After installing Command AntiVirus, we recommend that
you perform a manual scan of your local drives to ensure 
that your system is virus-free. This is especially important 
if you have not been running anti-virus software prior to 
this installation.

Please read the Command AntiVirus for Unix(r) User's Guide.
This guide is installed when you install the documentation
installation package. The Command AntiVirus for Unix User's
Guide provides installation instructions and an overview of 
Command AntiVirus for FreeBSD. 

The cssunix.pdf file contains the Command AntiVirus for Unix
User's Guide. This file can be read with the Adobe(r) Acrobat(r) 
Reader.
 
You can download Acrobat Reader from Adobe Systems Incorporated

The guide.txt is a text file that contains the CSAV for FreeBSD 
User's Guide. This guide contains command-line options and exit 
codes.

A Release Notes section is provided for each release. It contains 
the following topics:

*  Special Notes - contains important pre- and post-installation 
   information that pertains to the release.

*  Product Enhancements - contains information about new virus
   signatures, scan engine improvements, and new features.

*  Fixes - contains updated information on previously reported
   problems that have been fixed.

SPECIAL NOTES


*  Before installing Command AntiVirus for FreeBSD Version 
   4.90.1, you MUST first uninstall any previous versions.


* If you receive the following error message when running a 
  virus scan, install compat4x support (FreeBSD 4.x binary
  compatibility) from your FreeBSD CD.
  
  Error:
  /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libc_r.so.4" not found


*  The instructions for Removing Command AntiVirus have changed.
   To remove the Command AntiVirus package, at the command 
   prompt, #, type the following and press ENTER:

   pkg_delete csav-x.xx.x

   The x.xx.x represents the currently installed version number.

   You can obtain this number by typing the following command at 
   the command prompt, #, and pressing ENTER:

   pkg_info | grep csav

  
PRODUCT ENHANCEMENTS

*  Scan engine enhancements have been added to this release:
   
   - Improved Polymorphic detection

   - Detection of W32/Zmist.A

   - Detection of certain samples of W32/Fono.17152.A

   - Command AntiVirus now successfully handles script viruses, 
     for example, JS/Fortnight, that have encrypted components 
     requiring deletion of the file as part of the disinfection 
     process.  

   - Improved MIME decoder that allows better handling of viruses
     such as W32/Mimail.A@mm and W32/Swen.A@mm.
